My experience in Twilight Comp 2
When i Joined this class i did not know what to expect and did not give much thought to it. I was a closet Twilight fan convinced to join this class by a lady in the English department. My thoughts were only that it was going to be about Twilight and that's it. I feel that i have learned more about Vampires and Gothic literature then Twilight has offer. My only ideas of Vampires were the Cullens and Count Dracula. I have now learned about the Dynamics of the vampiric stories and characteristic of vampires. Learning these elements from many different stories has enlightened me to better understand story plots and characters. I find the ideology of vampires very interesting. I now see more depth in these stories then i could before. With learning all these elements it has allowed me to enjoy Gothic fiction like never before. I appreciate what i have learned and i feel it has expand my mind and vocabulary. I love to learn and I am so glad that my expectations for this class has been exceed beyond my imagination. I believe my writing has improved and also how i understand what i read but most of all my enjoyment for reading has been restored.
Twilight Suicide
For my blogs i try to research crazy stories surrounding around Twilight. This has to be the most outrageous article. Not in the since that suicide is a joke or the girls mental health but rather the author of the article. I want to state that due to the pure ridiculousness of this storey i don't believe it is true. This article is from Landoverbaptist.org "where the worthwhile come to worship and unsaved are not welcome". This is a extreme christian website. The story is of a teenage girl name Cindy May, told by pastor deacon Fred during church. The story goes that Cindy May skipped bible study and lied to her parents to go see Twilight with her friends. She arrived 15 minutes late and tip toed into the living room where her parents were. It says that "The Holy Ghost convicted her right there on the living room floor!" and she told her parents that she skipped Bible study to see Twilight. The father then grabbed Cindy May by the hair and threw her down to the basement where he proceeded to beat her with the bible. Pastor Deacon Fred describes it as "Mr. Reynolds spanked his ugly teenage daughter over her naked hind side with a King James Bible until she stopped crying, and the only words that came out of her lips before she lost consciousness were, 'I'm sorry, Daddy - I'm sorry I let you down. May Jesus forgive me.'" Wow keep in mind this was said during church. Cindy May was left in the basement for two hours to think about what she did, after two hours they found Cindy May had broke both her legs in a suicide attempt. This does not sound like the conventional suicide attempts i have heard of but oh well. The story goes on and Cindy May survives. Pastor Deacon Fred continues to describe Cindy May in such a way it hard to believe he is a man of god. "We all know that Cindy May is not one of the most attractive girls in this Church" this is a little raw. It only gets better listen to this, "Christian parents with unattractive teenage daughters should take heed that Twilight is a film that is driving ugly ducklings into fits of primal lust," he warned. "This movie preys on little unwanted girls, who can count the number of friends they have on one finger! WOW!!!! I cant believe any one would sit and lessen to him. ?Pastor Deacon Fred wraps it up with "Twilight suggests they should end their lives and become vampiresses to spend eternity with handsome vampire gentlemen who don't care how unsightly a young gal is to look upon!Twilight is hitting America's poor teenage Christian girls in their heart strings, promising them the gift of eternal life with no social concerns! It is a perversion of the story of Christ." I am not even going to bother to write a complete review over this article. I think any one with a moral conscious and basic common sense can come up with there own conclusion.

When Twilight has been taken to FAR!!!!
I have heard alot of Twilight hate. I myself have hated Twilight before i ever took the time to read or watch a movie then became a fan. Most of the hate for Twilight i see is unreasonable. Most people that make fun of it like i use to have never seen it or read the book. There is also alot of people that hate Twilight fans, I use to call them TWITARDS ha ha ha ha then i became one. I enjoy the books and the movies but i do not own any thing else besides the books and original movie. I am not a Twilight hoarder with my home covered from floor to celling with pictures of Edward or Jacob. I don't make fun of these people because its private and people don't have to see it and you can keep it your self. The problem I do have is with TWILIGHT TATTOOS!!!!!!! This is why people make fun of Twilight and its Fans. PLEASE STOP!!!!!! or maybe not because i find it to be very entertaining. The worst tattoos are the portraits of the characters. Portraits are the hardest tattoos to do and most of them turn out looking like the person has a touch of down syndrome. The Twilight portraits are by far some of the worst i have very laid my eyes on. Due to the high price of tattoo removal and great pain at tattoo is a life time commitment. Most of these tattoos are on older women. I don't understand. I think that Twilight has become some sort of drug for some people. like any other drug it allows people to change the way they feel and escape the pains of their own reality. We must get these people help. If they are willing to get tattoos i ask what well they do next?????????
The only part of Twilight i dont like
We are reading the book 2 Jacob from Breaking Dawn and I think Stephenie Meyer really dropped the ball. I have enjoyed reading and this is the first part of my experience i am not pleased with. I like the story being told form Jacobs point of view and its a nice choice. The problem i have is with how Meyer sets up the confrontation between sam in the Cullens. So Jacob hears Bella is back and sick so he proceeds to go to the Cullens and kill Edward because he believes she is sick from becoming her transformation to Vampire hood. He tells Sam and the rest of the pack but Sam tell's him no and sides with logic and the fact he believes the Cullens are not all that bad. Jacob goes and finds Bella pregnant and re frames from killing Edward and returns to the pack. The pack reads Jacobs mind and see's what he saw. This is when Sam decides to Attack the Cullens due to the Fact this creature inside Bella puts the people at risk. I like the idea of Sam and the rest of the pack he has fighting the Cullens for the pure fact of how glorious of a fight it would be but the setup is weak and lame. Sam tells Jacob not to attack and tries to use logic by telling Jacob we need facts Bella could really just be sick. Yet Sam wants to attack the Cullens with out any fact of what this creature is. There was no Truce broken. They have no clue what this baby is for all Sam knows it could be Jacobs ha ha ha not really but that would be a great twist. I think Meyer's tried to portray Sam as a composed intelligent leader that looks out for the best of his people and his pack. She makes it look like Sam weighs all the sides of a problem and decides on fact but in this situation he reacts like Jacob. She makes Jacob act on impulse but in this situation Jacob seems to act more like Sam is suppose to .

Northanger Abbey Let Down
So i was under the impression that in our Twilight Comp 2 class that all the reading material would pertain to vampires but i was mistaken. I had the unfortunate opportunity to read Northanger Abbey which I feel was a waste of my life. The book just dragged along the entire time and i felt like i was waiting for some thing big and exciting to happen that never came. It was a real pain to read at first and continued but the mystery of why we had to read this book kept my hopes high for a good climax. The characters were not exciting at all, they just seemed very plain. The only character with any interesting qualities was Mr.Tinley. He was the villain of the book and at best was just a bad person who had not done anything really that bad out of the norm. I think maybe during the time this book was released it was exciting and interesting but living in 2012 it does nothing for me. From the love story to the lame problems it has no significant value and will soon be forgotten. There was no vampire but our teacher described General Tinley as having some of the same characteristics as our commonly found vampires. He sucked the life out of his wife with out a drop of blood but by not being a good husband. I would not recommend this become to any one under the age of 75.
Why do we blame twilight?
Twilight is a very popular book and movie but with such popularity comes hatred. I understand people have different taste in things but what i don't understand is the amount of energy some of these people who hate twilight put into bashing it. I am really taken back by some of the ludicrous assumption people make. I know for myself that if i dislike some thing I don't read the book or watch the movie, but some of these nay Sayer's seem to know more about the Twilight series then your typical team Edward love struck 14 year old girl. It seems like a lot of time and energy put in to some thing that makes you upset or is it possible that deep down inside they really do like Twilight. Some people treat Twilight like due to its popularity its a mandated reading material for any human breathing air but the truth is no one is shoving the book down your throat and if you hate it why not stop wasting your time with it. Then we come to the people that just like to bitch about any thing and there entire lives and social circles are based around hatred. These are the people who really hate themselves and cant find any enjoyment out of life so they do what they know best and spread there own pain. Some of the claims people make are insane. I am not one to tend to read negative article reviews about any thing let alone twilight but our teacher has assigned us to. First i believe they are a waste of my time because i don't like negativity and two they are full of drawling irrational conclusion from a fiction book. for example the claim that Twilight is is saying that abuse on women is OK. First I never picked that up when i read the book the first time maybe because i was not looking for some thing to hate. I see what she is trying to do and the fact is that this is a fiction book. The characters are not human they are animals and vampires with human qualities. She is trying to hold human society standards to a made up book not even about humans. I think its just a ploy for attention, she needed to make a outlandish assumption to get attention. If there is any negative message being sent out by the book i can tell you Stephanie Myers is not to blame. The parents that allow there 14 year old daughter is to blame. Then i think the whole literary industry is to blame for not having a age rating system for books. The fact is that this is a fiction book written about fiction characters and fiction situations. For any who is mentally sane and lives on planet earth can plainly see this.
Cougars take on Jacob or Edward
This weekend i went out with some friends to local dance club where I met some very attractive older women that i decided to talk to. Things went well and we ended up at Denny's afterwards. While waiting for our food and the fact that Denny's only had one person working and 80 customers we had plenty of time to talk. Some how the topic of Twilight was brought up by one of the women. I have heard the plenty of girls around my age debated over Jacob and Edward but i had never witness to grown women both having children discuss who is hotter. One women was in favor of Jacob and loved his body and thought he was dreaming. The other women said Jacob has a huge nose that only would look right on a pig. They both agreed that Edward looked like a poster child for feed the children. I got a good laugh out of this conversation and did not interfere for the fact i am a closeted Twilight fan. What i thought was most interesting was there take on Bella. They felt Bella was ugly, dorky, and in real life no man would ever fight over here. I enjoyed the conversation and really don't have a opinion on who is hotter for i was more interested in the blonde having the conversation but i believe both of them are handsome men. I do have to side with the women on the topic of Bella, she isn't much to desire i would rather fight for Rosalie or Alice or even Mrs. Cullen hahaha.
